I thought I saw a shadow of

What was meant by

“I have prepared a place for you”—

A faux orchid

Placed on top of a steel can

With a window catalog

In the nursing room

Of a dying mall.




 

Henrietta DuCap received her B.A. in Creative Writing from Cornerstone University, also studying fantasy literature at Oxford for a term.
